MATERIAL.— Namibe-Lubango road, 2 km E of Mangueiras, south side of the road, 5 December 2013, 15º02ʹ37.0ʺS, 13º09ʹ36.0ʺE, 625 m ( CAS 254885 About CAS ) GoogleMaps .
COMMENTS.— The species is widespread over much of southern Africa, particularly on sandy substrates ( Bauer et al. 1993). In Angola, the majority of both bibliographic (Bocage 1867, 1895; Monard 1937; Mertens 1938; Boulenger 1921) and museum records (e.g., TM 46525) are from Benguela. However, there are also records of the species for Namibe Province from “Maconjo” ( Bocage 1895), “Capangombe” ( Bocage 1895), and “Konondoto” (Boulenger 1921). The species’ distribution in the country extends to the southeast in Huíla and Cunene Provinces. Our specimen is a sub-adult (55.5 mm SVL).
