Genus Pseudocandona Kaufmann
Diagnosis (genus) (after Meisch 2000). Carapace in lateral view variously shaped, generally short and stout, rarely elongated or triangular, color opaque to white and smooth or pitted, usually with long stiff and perpendicular setae. LV overlapping RV.A1 usually with seven segments. Male A2 penultimate segment with bristles (t2 and t3) if subdivided. Md with three or five setae on second segment. Male T1 with clasping organs. T2 usually with basal seta. T3 basal segment (protopod) with 3 setae (dl, d2 and dp), f seta always missing, terminal segment with one short (h1) and two long setae (h2 and h3). Zenker’s organ with 5+2 rings of spines. Hemipenis with distal lobes.
