Type Locality: Indonesia, Sumatra, Acheen (= Atjeh).
Vernacular Names: Kloss's Squirrel.
Synonyms: Callosciurus albiculus G. Miller 1942 .
Distribution: Sumatra. Restricted to N Sumatra.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Considered a distinct species by Medway (1977:93). Corbet and Hill (1992:291) considered albescens and albiculus assignable to C. notatus .
