Material examined. 1♂, South Africa, Transvaal, Pretoria East SE258Cbc, 29.ii.1984 (Scholtz & Bellamy) | Bred from Aecidium flower galls on Vachellia karroo (TMSA) .

Biology. The larva was observed in flower galls produced by the fungus Aecidium on Vachellia karroo (Fabaceae) . Adult emerged on 29.ii. Previously, larvae were recorded on Vachellia xanthophloea , V. tortilis and Senegalia mellifera in Kenya (Bidzilya & Agassiz 2016: 127).
