Nicsara Walker

Nicsara falcata Redtenbacher 1891 is formally transferred from Nicsara Walker 1869 to Austrosalomona Rentz 1988 . This was suggested by Rentz (1988) for it and a number of other species and the combination was used in Rentz (1996) but the formal transfer has never been made or justified until now. The type series of N. falcata , now Austrosalomona falcata (Redtenbacher) , is in the Naturhistoriches Museum, Wien. The lectotype ( Fig. 1 ) is here designated with the type locality of the specimen labelled “Northern Australia ”. This is a common species along the coast from Bateman’s Bay, New South Wales north to the vicinity of Cairns, Queensland.
