Nicsara falcata Redtenbacher 1891 View in CoL is formally transferred from Nicsara Walker 1869 View in CoL to Austrosalomona Rentz 1988 View in CoL . This was suggested by Rentz (1988) for it and a number of other species and the combination was used in Rentz (1996) but the formal transfer has never been made or justified until now. The type series of N. falcata View in CoL , now Austrosalomona falcata (Redtenbacher) View in CoL , is in the Naturhistoriches Museum, Wien. The lectotype ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ) is here designated with the type locality of the specimen labelled “Northern Australia ”. This is a common species along the coast from Bateman’s Bay, New South Wales north to the vicinity of Cairns, Queensland.
