( Figs 37–41 View FIGURES 37–41 )
Mutilla indiga Bingham, 1908: 351 , ♂, type locality, Jhansi [ India: Uttar Pradesh], holotype in NZC.
Odontomutilla indiga: Lelej 2005: 115 .
Material examined. Holotype of Mutilla indiga , ♂, India, Jhansi, N.W. India, alt 850 ped, 2.08.[19]05, Brunetti // Mutilla indiga ♂ Bingh. Type // B // 6065, 15 // Type // Holotype // Smicromyrme indigo Holotype B. Petersen det. 19[80] // Calcutta [ NZC] .
Remark. Bingham’s (1908) notes that this species “superficially resembles Mutilla (Odontomutilla) herpa Cameron , from Sarawak, but structure, shape of median segment, and sculpture, all differ widely”. These characters were the reason for the preliminary placement of Mutilla indiga in the genus Odontomutilla ( Lelej 2005) . After studying the holotype we hereby transfer this species to Smicromyrme Thomson, 1870 .
