Type species.
Anilara brasiliensis Kerremans, 1900 by original designation.
The genus was originally described by Théry (1934) as a subgenus of Tetragonoschema Thompson, 1857 which was accepted also by Bellamy (2008). The subgenus was subsequently upgraded to a genus by Bílý (2012). The genus Anilaroides contains only two very similar species distributed in Brasil and revised by Bílý (2012).
