Cryptothecia striata G. Thor

This pantropical species has been found as common element in the evergreen and mangrove forests in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is characterized by the greenish grey to greyish white thallus with granular isidia-like structures and whitish prothallus; 1-spored irregularly dispersed asci; 15–21 × 6–10 septate, 55–78 × 28–34 μm ascospores, and gyrophoric and lecanoric acids as lichen substances.
