Distribution. Native. Nearctic, Neotropical, French Polynesia; Galápagos: Floreana, Isabela, San Cristóbal (ICCDRS), Santiago.
Remarks. Adults of this species were collected on the sea surface in pleuston nets between islands of the Galápagos ( Peck 1994b). This species is believed to have naturally dispersed to the Galápagos and Polynesia ( Bickel 1996; Bickel & Sinclair 1997).
