Distribution. Neotropical (Cocos Is.).
Remarks. This species was described from a male from Cocos Island and a female specimen from Santiago. Upon re-examination, the female specimen is considered conspecific with C. setosus , consequently C. cheesmanae does not occur on the Galápagos Islands ( Bickel & Sinclair 1997).
