Type material. Holotype ♂, ChIna, Gansu, Tewo vIc., ZadI, 2430–2800 m, 34°03'41.36” N, 103°11'01.89” E, 30. V. 2014, V. TshIkolovets leg. Description. Male. ForewIng length: 20–21.5 mm. The orange uppersIde and undersIde of forewIngs, wIth theIr scattered black markIngs, are IdentIcal to those of C. selenis and C. titania . The undersIde of hInd wIng Is largely brown, wIth a strong vIolet tInge and a dIscal band contaInIng 8–9 sIlvery-orange spots. MargInal area wIth sIx sIlvery-range spots and one reduced In space 5. Some of the black spots In post dIscal area have yellow-green centres.
Female. SImIlar to male, but a lIttle bIgger.
Diagnosis. The new specIes can easIly be dIstInguIshed from Its congeners by the combInatIon of the followIng characters: form of hInd wIng Is angular and In thIs respect Is closer to the genus Boloria ( FIg. 11 View FIGURES 1 – 12 a); undersIde of hInd wIng: black trIangular spots In submargInal area and round spots of postdIscal area are partly merged and are sImIlar to those of C. titania , but unlIke the latter, yellow-green scales are present In some of the spots ( FIg. 11 View FIGURES 1 – 12 b); sIlver-yellow spot of dIscal area In space 4 Is dIvIded a dark strIpe as In C. selenis , but more dark ( FIg. 11 View FIGURES 1 – 12 e); another sIlver-yellow spot In space 1 Is toothed (In selenis roundIsh) ( FIg. 11 View FIGURES 1 – 12 f); undersIde of forewIngs wIth thIn brown angular lInes In submargInal area (In other specIes of black); the upper part of postdIscal area has a sIlvery-vIolet suffusIon, present elsewhere only In C. dia ( FIgs 11 View FIGURES 1 – 12 c, d).
Male genItalIa are most lIke those of C. selenis but appendages of the valva are more dentate ( FIg. 12 View FIGURES 1 – 12 ).
Etymology. Named after the Gansu ProvInce, type localIty of the new specIes.
Distribution. ChIna: Gansu, NIngxIa.
