status

Asplenium incurvatum Fée, Crypt. Vasc. View in CoL Brésil 1: 69, t. 18, f. 1. 1869.

Range:— Andes from Venezuela to Bolivia (BE, CO, LP, SC); southeastern Brazil.

Ecology:— Fairly common; epiphytic, terrestrial, and saxicolous in humid forests, probably prefers limestone and sandstone outcrops; 850–3050 m.

Notes:— The Andean populations attributed by us to this species may not be conspecific with those from southeastern Brazil, the source of the type. Jonas (2011) did not find any consistent molecular or morphological traits (besides rhizome scale length) to separate this species from A. achalense .
