Asplenium discrepans Rosenst., Repert. View in CoL Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 12: 469. 1913.
Range:— Peru, Bolivia (BE, CH, CO, LP, SC), Paraguay, and western Brazil; possibly also Trinidad and southeastern Brazil ( Barbosa 2224 (UC), from Parque Nacional do Iguaçu, Est. Parana).
Ecology:— Common; terrestrial and saxicolous, on rocky hillsides or ravine banks in semideciduous and deciduous forests; to 2500 m.

May hybridize with A. bangii and A. inaequilaterale . Perhaps conspecific with African A. suppositum Hieron. , which has priority ( Moran & Smith 2001).
