Range:— Greater Antilles; Costa Rica; patchily from Colombia to Bolivia (LP).

Ecology:— Fairly common; terrestrial and epiphytic, rarely saxicolous, in semihumid forests; 900–1300(2350 m), down to 650 m elsewhere.

Notes:— Closely related to A. praemorsum , but differing in having less dissected blades and broader rhizome scales.
