Material examined. Penaeid—7 (6 M, 1 OF); size range 5.7 ≤ CW ≤ 8.74 mm; average: CW = 7.58 ± 1.26 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00240.
Stations. Penaeid—1, 3, and 6.
Distribution. Western Atlantic—USA (North Carolina, Florida, Gulf of Mexico), Antilles, Guyana, French Guiana, Brazil (from Amapá to Rio Grande do Sul), Uruguay, and Argentina ( Melo 1996).
Ecological notes. From shallow waters to high depths. On rock, coral, calcareous algae, sand, and shell bottoms ( Melo 1996), also associated with sponges. Moves slowly, in hops. Do not camouflage itself and is parasitized sometimes by sacculinids ( Melo 2008). Associated with Bryozoa Schizoporella unicornis at Southeastern of Brazil ( Alves et al. 2013).
