Lichen cristatus Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 1143. 1753, nom. cons.
"Habitat in Europa australi." RCN: 8189.
Conserved type ( Jørgensen & al. in Taxon 43: 651. 1994): Italy. Trentino, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Pocol, 1948, G. Degelius (UPS).
Current name: Collema cristatum (L.) Weber ex F.H. Wigg. ( Collemataceae).
Note: Degelius (in Symb. Bot. Upsal. 13(2): 308. 1954) designated a neotype (contrary to Art. 9.11 because original material, the Dillenius figure, was in existence). The latter was the sole available element and was therefore designated as lectotype, along with an epitype, by Jørgensen & al. (in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 115: 299. 1994). Unfortunately, the type belongs to Collema tenax (Sw.) Ach. , so these authors successfully proposed the conservation of the name with Degelius’ neotype as the conserved type.
