Diagnosis (modified from Dieckmann (1968)). Body length 2.60–5.33 mm (includes Bradybatus (Bradybatus) keerqinensis Lü and Zhang sp. n.); body red, brown to black; body and legs covered with white to yellow, rarely dark scales; elytra with rows of arched, curved scales, not easily recognized in densely scaled species; scales on the surface of pronotum and elytra normally form spots or bands; scales of frons close the base and directed anteriorly; rostrum short and stout, equal to or slightly longer than pronotum; antennae strong, especially funicle, funicle with six articles, funicular segment 1 equal or slightly longer than wide, segment 3–6 transverse, club oval; pronotum slightly wider than long; elytra rectangular with lateral margins parallel or widened to apex; wings well developed; legs robust, especially femora, with small teeth or none; tibiae short, with strong, curved mucro at apex; claws with teeth; presence of parameres on the tegmen.
