Anal lobe of wing well developed, costal extension short, supraalar present, superior volsella distinct and bulgelike, pars ventralis absent. R 4+5 ending distinctly proximal to end of M 3+4 except in A. azoricus and A. longicrus . Female tergite IX divided into two setigerous protrusions, but without caudal notch. More than 20 non-marginal setae on costa between above RM and apex of R 4+ 5 in female. Posterolateral corners of segment X triangular.
