Type material: Holotype male, SPAIN: El Rocio , 12.vii.1975, R. Kühbandner ( ZSM).
Diagnostic characters: The absence of a postcubital fork, combined with only 2 sensilla clavata, a tongueshaped inferior volsella and the long anal point without setae characterize the male imago.
Etymology: From the Latin caritus, lacking, devoid of, referring to the lack of numerous sensilla clavata or apical spine on the third palpomere and the lack of the postcubital fork.
Male imago (n = 1)
All measurements and ratios within the range of variation of P. brevifurcata with the following exceptions and additions: Wing ( Fig. 92 A View FIGURE 92 ) length 0.89 mm. Total length/wing length 2.41. Wing length/length of profemur 2.41. AR 1.08. Clypeus apparently with 4 setae. Third palpomere ( Fig. 92 C View FIGURE 92 ) with 2 sensilla clavata, fourth palpomere 75 µm long, fifth 135 µm long. Dorsocentrals 13, prealars 5. Costal extension 54 µm long, no postcubital fork, R without setae. Hind tibia 37 µm wide at apex. Tarsomere 5 of middle leg 41 µm long. Anal point ( Fig. 91 F View FIGURE 91 ) 57 µm long, tapering, with concave sides, with microtrichia to apex. Laterosternite with 2 setae. Virga ( Fig. 92 E View FIGURE 92 ) 18 µm long. Inner margin of gonocoxite ( Fig. 92 F View FIGURE 92 ) with orally directed curled microtrichia. Gonostylus curved at apex.

Distribution
This species is known only from the type locality in Spain .
