Pseudosmittia magdae Andersen, Saether et Mendes View in CoL
( Fig. 114 A, B View FIGURE 114 ) Pseudosmittia magdae Andersen, Saether et Mendes 2010: 53 .
Material examined: BRAZIL: São Paulo State, Parque Estadual Intervales, gruta Paiva , CDC trap, holotype male, 14.viii.2001, E. Galati ( MZUSP). Other material as in Andersen et al. (2010: 53) .
Diagnostic characters: The species differ from P. forcipata by having median volsella nearly as long as superior volsella, superior volsella with basal anterior projection carrying 2–4 setae (always?), gonostylus bilobed with secondary lobe adpressed to gonostylus, and apodeme lobe apparently with only two weak wrinkles.
The species is described in detail in Andersen et al. (2010: 53). The species may be a variety of P. forcipata . The main differences consist in the longer median volsella, the more clearly two-lobed partly fused gonostylus, and the anterobasal projection of the superior volsella. It is known from two localities in São Paulo State, Brazil.
