Type material: Holotype male, USA: Florida: Gadson County, Turkey Creek on 65 B near Rocky Comfort Creek, 11.xi.1979, A. R. Soponis & B. T. Kidd ( FLAM) . – Paratype male hypopygium: USA: South Carolina: Pickens County, 12 Mile Creek , 2 miles SW Pickens, 6.vii.1958, J. L. Laffoon (hypopygium mounted together with Cricotopus sp. )( ISU) .
Diagnostic characters: The male imago can be separated from P. forcipata and related species by the halberd-like shape of the inferior volsella, no costal extension, and shorter apical palpomeres and anal point.
Etymology: From the Latin dolabra, hatchet, and -atus, provided with, referring to the shape of the inferior volsella.
Male imago (n = 1–2)
All measurements and ratios within the range of variation of P. forcipata with the following exceptions: Antenna lost; palpomere 4 71 µm long, palpomere 5 69 µm long; VR 1.41; no costal extension ( Fig. 116 A View FIGURE 116 ); Cu 1 only slightly sinuate; anal point 9–18 µm long; phallapodeme with 4–5 wrinkles ( Fig. 116 F View FIGURE 116 ); inferior volsella halberd-shaped; HR 2.00.

Unknown.
Remarks
This species could conceivable represent a form of P. forcipata . More complete material is needed to ensure the validity of the species.
Distribution
The species is only known from Florida and South Carolina.
