TYPE MATERIAL EXAMINED: Holotype ♂: [ Afrique , Ghana, Bole Nord Est, 21.II.2010, ultra violet, 286m, Alain Coache] ( RBINS).

Paratypes: 3♀: idem ( RBINS, OCIS, PCPL) ; 1♂: [ BENIN, Sérou , sep.1998, Col. P. Legall] ( OCIS) .

DESCRIPTION.

♂: length: 11.5 – 12 mm, breadth: 5.5 mm; ratio LB/lB (n = 2): 1.64 – 1.72.

Laterally convex, relatively short, dorsally slightly convex, broader at middle of elytra; Totally deep brown except club of antennae pale brown.

Head (eye to eye) broad, clypeus rounded, totally reflexed and covered with tubercles; vertex punctate like frons.

Antennae 10­ segmented, with club longer than funicle.

Pronotum rectangular, broader than long; ratio LP/lP (n = 2): 0.50 – 0.51; sides regularly rounded from base to apex, with all margins carinate, anterior angles projecting and reaching posterior margin of eyes; transversely striated; impressed point on lateral margins.

Apex of scutellum rounded, punctate like pronotum.

Elytra longer than broad; ratio LE/lE (n = 2): 1.30 – 1.38; epipleura complete; costae slightly elevated; intervals strongly punctate (rounded points).

Humeral and apical calli marked.

Pygidium laterally rounded, carinate, slightly projecting postero­ventrally, and not surpassing apex of elytra.

Abdomen concave; process at base of prosternum triangular.

Protibia tridentate, pro­and mesotarsal larger claw bifid; metatarsus with larger claw half longer than outer one.

Dorsum covered with short erected white scales and lines of isolated tufts of longer white scales on elytra, white scales decumbent on head and pronotum; some long isolated erected yellowish setae from canthus to lateral margin of elytra; underside covered with short, white, decumbent scales with dense long yellowish erected setae on median part of abdominal sternites; pygidium covered with white short decumbent scales; erected setae on disc; ventral part of pygidium glabrous.

Aedeagus: short and broad, laterally toothed before apex and with apex sinuate in dorsal view; ventrally bisinuate in lateral view.

♀: length: 11 – 11.5 mm, width: 6 mm.

Differs from ♂ by: apical teeth of protibia broader and longer, and body broader.

DERIVATIO NOMINIS. Dedicated to Philippe Le Gall (Prunay Letemple, France) who collected one of the paratypes .
