Type locality and specimens. Capland ( Port Elizabeth ). Mus. Hamburg (Dr. Brauns leg.) .
Dimensions. Länge bis [length up to] 45 mm.
Type material. Syntypes 4 ( ZMH-A0000608 , ZMH-A0009309-9311 ). SOUTH AFRICA: Eastern Cape Province, Port Elizabeth [ca. 33°57’S, 25°36’E] GoogleMaps .
Preservation. 1 jar: Label. Cormoc. pseudopunctatus Krpln Typus Port Elizabeth Dr. Brauns d. 15.XII.98 (Kraepelin handwriting).
Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 67, No. 30. Syntypes 4.
Type status. Kraepelin (1903) did not specify the number of specimens and in his description all four specimens are listed as a single lot.
Collection remarks. The specimens were collected by the German medical doctor and entomologist Hans Brauns (1857–1929).
