Type locality and specimens. Fundort [locality]: Südrhodesia [South Rhodesia, today Zimbabwe], Salisbury [today Harare]. ( V. GROSSE coll. Hamburger Museum) .
Dimensions. Länge [length] 55 mm.
Type material. Syntype ( ZMH-A0000638 ) . ZIMBABWE: Harare Province, Harare (“ Salesbury ”) [ca. 17°49’S, 31°02’E] GoogleMaps .

Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 71, No. 89. Syntypes 2.
Taxonomic remarks. Attems (1928) did not specify the number of specimens in his description and Weidner (1960) listed 2 syntypes at the ZMH but only one is present. The species was transferred to Scolopendra by Lewis et al. (2006: 36) and renamed attemsi to avoid homonymy with S. intermedia Porat, 1871 .
