Type material. The type material consists of the holotype ♀ (examined) and 49 paratypes (43♀, 6♂, partly examined), mostly in ITLJ, with some paratypes in USNM.

Description. See Konishi (1990). Redescription and data on intraspecific variation are provided by Turrisi (2007).

Distribution. Japan (Honshu, Shikoku, Mikura-jima, Hachijô-jima, Miyake-jima; Chikuzen-okino-shima, Yaku-shima; Amami-ôshima ( Konishi 1990; Turrisi 2007). South Korea (Smith & Tripotin in press) ( Fig. 186 View FIGURE 186 ).

Remarks. This species is newly recorded for Miyake-jima and Shikoku.
