Pristaulacus comptipennis Enderlein 1912 View in CoL species group
Diagnosis. This species group was recognized by Turrisi (2004, 2007) and Turrisi & Pilato (2008). Subsequently, it was shown to be a stable monophyletic branch under different weighting schemes ( Turrisi et al. 2009; in this paper, Pristaulacus sp. 3 is the same as P. nobilei sp. nov., see below). The monophyly of this clade is supported by the autapomorphic presence of a medial occipital groove on the head ( Turrisi et al. 2009: char. 4: 2). Since all the newly described species share this character, their placement within the P. comptipennis species group appears unambiguous.
Geographic range. This species group is restricted to southeastern Asia, partly in extreme eastern Palearctic and mostly in the Oriental Region ( Fig. 186 View FIGURE 186 ).
Species included. Based on the literature, this species group previously was represented by six species described by Enderlein (1912), Turner (1922), Konishi (1989, 1990) and Sun & Sheng (2007a). Fourteen are described herein.
