Neofedrizzia vitzthumi (Oudemans)
Toxopeusia vitzthumi Oudemans, 1927: 228 ; Oudemans, 1928: 66. Neofedrizzia vitzthumi -- Womersley, 1959: 48.
Type specimens. Holotype, F, INDONESIA: Buru: Wai Eno bis (“lot” on slide), Wai Temun (“Temoen” on slide), 3.ii.1922, Buru (“Boeroe” on slide) (slide number 3564, registration P 1098). In Mus. Leiden.
Diagnosis. Female: idiosoma 745 long; anterior hyaline projection does not extend past CxI; exopodal patterning between CxII–III striped; pedofossae III and IV absent; seta h1 with 10–11 barbs; distal spine-like process on palp femur present, ca. 10 long; one non-filamentous excrescence ribbon-like, the other a serrated blade; femur III and IV with large lamellae. Seta st1 about as long as base of tritosternum; setae st2-st3 ca. 15 long, seta st4 broken or minute; sternogynial shield with anterior margin straight.
Redescription. Female: Idiosoma 740–745 long, 510 wide; anterior hyaline projection with 1 pair of barbed setae 20–28 long. Tritosternum base 43 long, 28 wide. Tetartosternum reticulate, sternal shield smooth; tetartosternum crown-shaped; st1 barbed, 28–30 long, st2 barbed, 15 long, st3 8 long, st4 minute. Sternogynial shield 115 long, 100 wide, smooth, 2 pores and 3 setae flanking each side of shield. Ventral shield smooth medially and in intercoxal region; pores and setae indistinct. Ventrianal shield 125 long, 350 wide, smooth, paranal setae 45–50 long, other setae minute; anterolateral corner of ventrianal shield not fused with ventral shield. Marginal shields probably smooth. Pedofossae III absent, CxIV-marginal suture present.
Legs. TrI obscured. FeI with seta pv3 longer and thicker than setae pv1 and pv2. FeII with ventral lamella, seta pv1 20 long, setiform, seta pv2 30 long, setiform, seta ad1 obscured, appears thickened. GeII with setae ad3, pd3 setiform. FeIII with small lamella distal to av1; seta pv1 barbed, not spine-like, only slightly thickened; seta pd1 obscured. GeIII and TiIII with pd setae partially obscured, do not appear thickened. FeIV with lamella, expanded distal to av1, seta pv1 thick, spine-like, seta pd2 just distal to ad2; seta ad2 thickened. TaII- IV with seta av2 and av3 spine-like, subequal in length to seta av3.
Gnathosoma . Seta h1 curved, with 8–9 barbs, 58 long, distance between h1–h1 8; h2 with several small barbs, 35–40 long; h3 8 long, posterolaterad h2; palpcoxal seta 12 long. Corniculi on small tubercles. Palp, seta av1 on trochanter with few long barbs, 45 long; av2 with few or no barbs, 45 long; palp femur with distal spine 13 long. Chelicera, fixed digit 145 long, movable digit 40 long; fixed digit with 2 large and 2 minute teeth; excrescences consist of a large brush-like process, a ribbon-like processes with a crenate and serrated margin and a serrated blade that is two-thirds length of the ribbon-like process.
Remarks. This species is known from the female only and is similar to N. leonilae .
