Diagnosis: Males of P. titan are characterized by the RTA with pointed tip and dorsal margin provided with two short tooth-shaped excrescences, the proximal part of the tegulum long and produced forward to the margin of the embolus and with a RAPT with two short prongs. Females are recognized by the large fold spanning the entire width of the epigyne and its broad semicircular fold in the centre.

Etymology: The name of the species is a noun in apposition and refers to the size of the animals; the Titans were giants in Greek mythology, the children of Ouranos and Gaia.

Description: Male (holotype, MRAC 217368). Total l 6.05.

Carapace chestnut brown, covered by dispersed tiny warts. Carapace l: 2.75; w: 2.30. Fovea deep, clearly delimited. Sternum orange-brown, smooth, l: 1.25; w: 1.28. Abdomen greyish brown, with an indistinct, triangular, brown do scutum covering 15% of do abdominal surface area.

Legs orange-brown, not warted.

Leg spination: fe: I pl 0-0-1 do 0-1-0; II do 0-1-0; III do 0-1-1; IV do 0-1-1; ti: I ve 2-2-2-2-2-2-2; II ve 2-2-2-2-2-2-2; III pl 0-1-0 rl 0-1-0 ve 0-2-0; IV pl 0-1-1 rl 0-1-1 ve 0-2-0; mt: I ve 2-2-2-2; II ve 2-2-2-2; III pl 0-1-0 rl 0-1-0 ve 2-0-2; IV pl 1-0-0 rl 1-0-0 ve 2-0-2.

Male palp ( Fig. 58A, B View Figure 58 ): RTA pointing downward, fairly broad and short, distal tip sharp, do margin with two excrescences, proximal tooth simple, distal one larger with bifid tip; PTA large, simple. Embolus fairly short strongly tapered from broad base to sharp tip. MA cup-shaped. FC small, visible as transverse rod. Proximal part of tegulum extended forward with frontal extension truncated; PAPT far towards front, large, triangular, pointing forward; RAPT fairly large, bifid, curved slender do prong, small triangular ve prong.

Female (MRAC 217401). Total l 5.80.

Carapace chestnut brown, covered by dispersed tiny warts. Carapace l: 2.35; w: 2.05. Fovea deep, clearly delimited. Sternum smooth, l: 1.15; w: 1.15. Abdomen greyish brown, without do scutum. Legs orange-brown, not warted.

Epigyne ( Figs 58C, D View Figure 58 , 59J View Figure 59 ): broad, with two folds: broad, fairly deep recurved one followed by shallow slightly procurved fold. Posterior lobes delimit narrow central depression. Internal structure visible in transparency. Copulatory openings on either side of centre. Copulatory ducts unclear. Spermathecae globular, far apart. With central lobate ducts.
