COSMOCHTHONIIDAE View in CoL Grandjean, 1947
In Grandjean's original (1947) conception of the Cosmochthoniidae , the family consisted of the genera Haplochthonius , Cosmochthonius , and Heterochthonius ; shortly afterwards (Grandjean, 1948a) he added Amnemochthonius , whilst in a later, more definite classification (Grandjean, 1954) the genus Heterochthonius was placed in a separate family. Haplochthonius and Amnemochthonius are regarded here as representatives of a separate family, as is mentioned above in the key 1).
1) Tetrachthonius Hammer , 1958, p. 23 (type: T. clavatus Hammer , 1958, p. 23, pl. 4 figs. 19, 19a). appears to be related to Haplochthonius and Amnemochthonius ; it is, however, insufficiently characterized, and not classified or compared with other genera.
