Type Locality: "common at Ponsee, on the Kakhyen range of hills, east of Bhamo, at an elevation of from 2000 to 3000 ft " [ Burma].
Vernacular Names: Anderson's Squirrel.

Distribution: NE Burma, Yunnan ( China).
Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable.
Discussion: Included in C. erythraeus by Moore and Tate (1965:209); but this distinctly marked species with a very limited range is sympatric with the more widely distributed C. erythraeus in W Yunnan ( Corbet and Hill, 1992:286).
