Description. Body length (from apex of vertex to tip of forewings): 3 5.0– 5.2 mm, Ƥ 5.7–5.8 mm; forewing length: 3 4.2–4.3 mm, Ƥ 4.7–4.8 mm.
Coloration. Vertex ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ) brown with pale brown stripe in midline and two oval dark brown marks near posterior margin. Eyes dark brown. Frons ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ) dark brown, with brown verrucae near lateral margin, with dark brown band between eyes and frontoclypeal suture. Clypeus dark brown. Rostrum brown. Antenna dark brown. Pro- and mesonotum ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ) brown, with scattered dark brown spots. Forewings brown with dark brown marks, hind wings dark brown. Legs brown with dark brown stripes. Abdomen ventrally dark brown.
Head and thorax. Vertex ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ) oblong, 2.3 times wider than long in midline. Frons ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ) with median carina in middle, longer than wide (1.3:1). Pronotum ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ) without median carina, with small pit beyond each side of middle line. Scutellum ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ) without median carina, tumid in middle. Forewing ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ) 2.4 times longer than widest part, broadening distally, costal margin convex, apical margin convextruncate, Sc and R convergent near base, each reaching to margin. M bifurcate 1/3 near base, MA bifurcate 1/ 3 near apex, MP simple, Cu bifurcate in distal part, subapical margin veins distinct. Hind wings ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ) trilobed, veins simple. Hind tibiae with two teeth near apex. Spinal formula of hind leg 12–10–2.
Male genitalia. Anal segment ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ) in dorsal view oval, 2.7 times longer than widest part, apical margin convex in middle, anal foramen near base. Pygofer ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ) in lateral view, front margin concave in middle, hind margin convex near dorsal margin. Aedeagus ( Figs 16, 17 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ) in lateral view U-shaped, dorsal lobe with a opaque swelling in apex. Aedeagus in ventral view, with a pair of hooks near middle, directed cephalad, and a pair of machete-shaped hooks arising from basal part, directed laterodorsad, apical margin of ventral lobe convex in middle, lateral lobes with toothed near apex in lateral margins. Genital styles ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ) in lateral view subtriangular, dorsal margin convex near apex, with hook-shaped process parallel to ventral margin.
Type material. Holotype: 3, Guiyang, Guizhou Province, China, 8 Jun. 2005, Z.-G. Zhang; Paratypes: 12 3, 17 Ƥ, same data as holotype; 3 3, 2 Ƥ, Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, 26 Aug. 2008, Z.-H. Yang; 4 3, 7 Ƥ, Huixian, Henan Province, 600m, 12 Jul. 2002, X.-S. Chen ( IEGU).
Etymology. The specific name refers to the aedeagus ventrally with a pair of machete-shaped hooks near base.
Host plant. Ligustrum quihoui Carr. (Oleaceae)
Distribution. China (Guizhou, Shanxi and Henan) ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 ).
Remarks. This new species is similar to K. bicinctifrons Fennah, 1956 and K. longispina sp. nov. in external morphology, but differs in: (i) vertex 2.3 times wider than long (1.9 times in K. bicinctifrons ; 1.7 times in K. longispina ); (ii) anal segment ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ) in dorsal view oval, 2.7 times longer than widest part, apical margin convex in middle (anal segment in dorsal view subtriangular, apical margin concave in middle in the latter); (iii) aedeagus ( Figs 16, 17 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ) laterally view, dorsal lobe with a opaque swell in apex; ventrally with a pair of hooks near middle, directed cephalad, and a pair of machete-shaped hooks arising from basal part, directed laterodorsad, apical margin of ventral lobe convex in middle, lateral lobes with toothed near apex in lateral margins (in the latter, aedeagus without any opaque swell in apex, ventrally without hooks near base); (iv) spinal formula of hind leg 12–10–2 (9–11– 2 in K. bicinctifrons ; 10–10– 2 in K. longispina ).
