Diagnosis. Forewing length 12–18 mm. Forewing red brown with scattered black scales, a yellow patch near base of costa, and an irregular yellow marginal band that are medially divided by red brown area in female; hindwing usually having a variable extent of pale brown shading. Male genitalia ( Fig. 39 View FIGURES 35 – 40 ): Tegumen broad; uncus trident; valva short, wide, tapering to cucullus, cucullus acute, a sclerite at 1/3 of base; aedeagus simple, straight. Female genitalia ( Fig. 51 View FIGURES 50 – 52 ): apophysis anterioris almost as long as apophysis posterioris; bursa pyriform, with a bicornute signum at the distal end.

Distribution. China (Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Neimenggu, Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, Henan, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei, Sichuan, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong), Russia, Korea, Japan.

Remarks. The species can be distinguished from the other closely related species by the broad tegumen and trident uncus. It is widely distributed in China. Biological information is given by Chao (2003).
