Imagines (det. A. Taeger) jeweils im VIII/02 bis 04 bei Neulengbach entlang von Waldstrassen zahlreich auf den Blüten von Wasserdost (Eupatorium cannabinum). Von A-M IX mehrfach Junglarven auf Wolfstrapp (Lycopus europaeus), Lochfrass verursachend. Um M X alle Larven abgewandert. T. thompsoni steht T. marginella F. nahe. Vermutlich beziehen sich viele ältere Fundmeldungen (z. B. FRANZ 1982) und Futterpflanzenangaben (z. B. ZIRNGIEBL 1942) auf die imaginal stärker punktierte T. thompsoni .
