Erect dwarf shrubs. Young stems and pedicels densely pubescent. Prickles equal, subulate, straight. Leaflets uniserrate, sericeous-silky or velutinous, eglandular except at tip of teeth. Outer sepals with few lateral appendages, rarely entire, erect or ascending, persistent. Styles densely pubescent, forming large, sessile compact, semi-globose head. Orifice broad.―Southeast Europe and Southwest Asia.
