Material examined. Holotype: ♂, mixed forest in small island (34°40 ʹ 15 ʺ N, 125°21 ʹ 57 ʺ E, alt. 112 m), Heuksan-myeon, Sinan-gun , Jeollanam-do, 25 July 2007, S. Y. Kim GoogleMaps . Paratypes: 1$, same data as holotype; 1♂, mixed forest in valley (35°45 ʹ 53 ʺ N, 128°04 ʹ 22 ʺ E, alt. 526 m), Gaya-myeon, Hapcheon-gun , Gyeongsangnam-do, 12 August 2007, B. K. Seo GoogleMaps .
Etymology. The specific name is a Latin adjective “ brunea ” (brown), referring to the carapace color of the type specimens.
Diagnosis. The new species resembles P. parallela ( Wider, 1834) in the male carapace and the embolus shape of male palp, but different from the latter by the shapes of tibial apophyses, terminal apophysis, and copulatory ducts of internal genitalia ( Fig. 9 View Fig I-L, O).
Description. Male (holotype). Total length 1.54. Habitus as in Figure 5K View Fig . Carapace brown with a pair of sulci behind PLE, 0.72 long, 0.64 wide; cephalon slightly elevated. Clypeus height 2.5 times of diameter of AME. AER 0.29, PER 0.30. AER recurved and PER procurved strongly in dorsal view. AME 0.05, ALE 0.07, PME 0.07, PLE 0.07, AME-AME 0.03, AME-ALE 0.03, PME-PME 0.04, PME-PLE 0.04, AME-PME 0.08, and ALE-PLE contiguous. Median ocular quadrangle, height>posterior side>anterior side (14:12:9). Chelicera with five promarginal and six retromarginal teeth. Sternum 0.47 long, 0.47 wide. Labium 0.16 wide. Leg measurements: I 2.20 (0.61, 0.23, 0.55, 0.46, 0.35), II 2.01 (0.55, 0.22, 0.47, 0.43, 0.34), III 1.65 (0.44, 0.20, 0.35, 0.36, 0.30), IV 2.26 (0.65, 0.21, 0.57, 0.49, 0.34). Leg I/c 3.06. Fem. I/c 0.85. Tib. I/c 0.76. Met. I/c 0.64. Pat. I + tib. I/c 1.08. Met. I/tar. I 1.31. Met. IV/tar. IV 1.44. Chaetotaxy 1-1-1-1 (male paratype). Tm 1 0.49, Tm IV absent. Abdomen oval and dirty brown, and 1.04 long, 0.70 wide. Palp (Fig. I-L): tibia with a dorsal apophysis and a blunt retrolateral apophysis; tegular apophysis broad and blunt; embolus curved; terminal apophysis spiral with U-shaped chitinized tip.
Female (paratype). Total length 2.04 Habitus as in Figure 5L View Fig . Carapace 0.76 long, 0.66 wide. Clypeus height 2 times of diameter of AME. AER 0.27, PER 0.30. AME 0.05, ALE 0.08, PME 0.07, PLE 0.08, AME-AME 0.03, AME-ALE 0.03, PME-PME 0.05, PME-PLE 0.03, AME-PME 0.07, and ALE-PLE contiguous. Median ocular quadrangle, posterior side>height>anterior side (14:13:9). Chelicera with seven promarginal and four retromarginal teeth. Sternum 0.46 long, 0.47 wide. Labium 0.20 wide. Leg measurements: I 2.16 (0.62, 0.25, 0.51, 0.43, 0.35), II 1.95 (0.56, 0.23, 0.43, 0.39, 0.34), III 1.72 (0.47, 0.23, 0.35, 0.38, 0.29), IV 2.36 (0.68, 0.23, 0.62, 0.49, 0.34). Leg I/c 2.84. Fem. I/c 0.82. Tib. I/c 0.67. Met. I/c 0.57. Pat. I + tib. I/c 1.23. Met. I/tar. I 1.23. Met. IV/tar. IV 1.44. Chaetotaxy 0-0-0-1. Tm 1 0.52, Tm IV absent. Abdomen 1.40 long, 0.30 wide. Epigynum: atrium broad with a pair of logitudinal plates; internal genitalia with a pair of copulatory ducts under longitudinal plates and a pair of copulatory openings at posterior margin ( Fig. 9 View Fig M-O).
