Material examined. Holotype: ♂, mixed forest (35°22 ʹ 07 ʺ N, 127°47 ʹ 27 ʺ E, alt. 604 m), Samjang-myeon, Sancheong-gun , Gyeongsangnam-do, 29 June 2010, J. C. Lim. GoogleMaps
Etymology. The specific name is a Latin adjective “ cornis ” (horned), referring to the shape of the raised cephalon.
Diagnosis. The new species resembles M. ascitus (Kulczyński, 1894) in the uplifted head, the embolic division and embolus, the bristles on retrolateral tibia, and developed suprategular apophysis, but different from the latter by the shapes of embolic division and suprategular apophysis ( Fig. 8 View Fig L-M).
Description. Male (holotype). Total length 2.00. Habitus as in Figure 5H View Fig . Carapace reddish brown, 0.94 long, 0.80 wide; head uplift raised twice, with PME on both sides of second uplifted head and without sulcus ( Figs. 5H View Fig , 8 View Fig J-K). Clypeus height 6.3 times of diameter of AME. AER 0.23, PER 0.26; AER recurved slightly and PER procurved in dorsal view. AME 0.05, ALE 0.07, PME 0.05, PLE 0.07, AME-AME 0.02, AME-ALE 0.01, PME-PME 0.09, PME-PLE 0.12, AME-PME 0.14, and ALE-PLE contiguous. Median ocular quadrangle, height>posterior side>anterior side (19:11:10). Chelicera with six promarginal and five retromarginal teeth. Sternum 0.57 long, 0.61 wide. Labium 0.22 wide. Leg measurements: I 2.82 (0.78, 0.26, 0.73, 0.66, 0.39), II 2.75 (0.74, 0.26, 0.68, 0.68, 0.39), III 2.44 (0.66, 0.22, 0.59, 0.61, 0.36), IV 3.22 (0.90, 0.26, 0.86, 0.81, 0.39). Leg I/c 3.00. Fem. I/c 0.83. Tib. I/c 0.78. Met. I/c 0.70. Pat. I + tib. I/c 1.05. Met. I/tar. I 1.69. Met. IV/tar. IV 2.08. Chaetotaxy 1-1-1-1. Tm 1 0.80, Tm IV present. Abdomen oval and dark gray, with two pairs of pale dots and 1.20 long, 0.86 wide. Palp ( Fig. 8 View Fig L-M): tibia with a long pointed dorsal apophysis and a short pointed retrolateral apophysis; embolic division curled with thin curled embolus; tegulum broad and elongate; suprategular apophysis highly developed, broad and curved, with denticles at distal part.
Habitat. Mixed forest.
