Hyalojassus menglaensis View in CoL sp. nov.
( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 C, D, 15A–E)
Male 6.5 mm long, 2.8mm wide across humeral angles. Dorsum of head, pronotum, mesonotum and scutellum mostly medium brown; pronotum darker medially than along lateral margins, with pair of small black spots anterolaterally; mesonotal triangles dark brown; venter of thorax dull stramineous; forewing hyaline with stramineous opaque sclerotization along costal margin; dorsum of front tibia and costal margin of forewing reddish brown ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 C, D). Structural features ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 A–E) closely resembling those of H. takensis except male with aedeagus distinctly carinate laterally ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 E) and style bent at 90º angle near base and apex abruptly constricted with hatchetlike extension ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 C, E).
Material examined. Holotype ♂ CHINA: Yunnan, Xishuangbanna, Mengla, 620–650 m, 9.iv.1959, Li Zhenchang, IOZ(Z) 1912491 [ IOZB].
Notes. This species closely resembles H. takensis but may be distinguished by the paler overall coloration, the presence of a lateral carina on the aedeagal shaft and the rectangularly bent style with hatchetlike apex. This represents the first record of this genus from China. The species name refers to the type locality, Mengla, Yunnan, China.
