Coriojassus loeiensis View in CoL sp. nov.
( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1. A – D, G – J G, H, 8A–E)
Male 7.4 mm long, 3.5 mm wide across humeral angles. Coloration and external morphology ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1. A – D, G – J G, H) as in C. brunneus . Male pygofer with caudal margin slightly concave in lateral view, ventral process rounded apically with angulate ventroapical and preapical projections ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 E). Subgenital plate evenly widened from base to apex, ventral margin slightly convex in lateral view, apex obliquely truncate ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 D). Style apophysis twice as long as apodeme, sinuate, with prominent preapical spine, apex tapered ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 A). Aedeagus with shaft curved dorsally through most of length ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 B); without preapical teeth adjacent to gonopore, stem of paired apical processes as long as distance between distal projections ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 C). Male genitalia as in C. brunneus except as follows: style in lateral view with apex abruptly bent posterad, with small dorsal preapical tooth in addition to larger medially projecting spine; aedeagus in lateral view without prominent subbasal ventral lobe, without pair of lateral teeth basad of gonopore.
Material examined. Holotype ♂, THAILAND: Loei, Na Haeo (bio. station). 5–12.v.2001, Constant & Grootaert [ RISB].
Notes. This species resembles C. brunneus externally, but may be readily distinguished by the distinctive male genitalia. The species name is based on that of the Thai province in which the holotype was collected.
