Thymus dimorphus Klokov & Desjatova-Shostenko (1927 View in CoL : Ukrainian description: 119, Latin description: 122).

Lectotype (designated by Krytska 2014: 303):— UKRAINE. Маріупіль, степові схили над Кальчиком і плато перед Зах.[ідним] участком [ Mariupol , steppe slopes over the Kalchik River and plateau before the western part], 13 June 1925, Klokov s.n. ( CWU0052940 !, isolectotype CWU0052941 !).

= Thymus dimorphus [unranked] steppaceus Klokov & Desjatova-Shostenko (1927: Ukrainian description: 120, Latin description: 122).

Lectotype (designated here):— UKRAINE. Yuzovka district : cтепова дільницЯ на ШлЯху до Ларинського кар’ Єру [steppe area on the way to Laryne quarry], 30 May 1924, Klokov s.n. ( CWU0050805 !).

Notes: —In the protologue of Th. dimorphus [unranked] steppaceus, Klokov & Desjatova-Shostenko (1927) provide the following information about the examined specimens (syntypes): “1. ЮЗовка. Околиці на південь. 31/[without month] 1924 р. fl. Клоков! 2. ЮЗово. Степной уч.[асток] по дороге на Ларинский Карьер. 30/V 24 г. fl. Клоков! 3. ЮЗово. Схили над Кальміусом. Ларинський кар’ Єр. 30/ V 1924 р. fl. Клоков! [1. Yuzovka. Southern outskirts. 31/[without month] 1924. fl. Klokov! 2. Yuzovo. Steppe area on the way to Laryne quarry. 30/V 24. fl. Klokov! 3. Yuzovo. Slopes over the Kalmius River. Laryne quarry. 30/ V 1924. fl. Klokov!]”. All these specimens, which we found at CWU (CWU0050804!, CWU0050805!, and CWU0050807!, see below), generally correspond to the short diagnosis in the protologue: “Caules fasciculati. Folia majora 15–28 cm. lng., 2,5– 5 cm. lat., longiore petiolata, quam apud formae typicae. Calyces 4–5 mm. lng. Corolla pallida, parva” [ V.N. —The leaf size mesurements contain an apparent misprint, i.e. the measurement unit should be “mm” and not “cm”]. Of these specimens, CWU0050805 ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ) is the one which best represents shoot system and other diagnostic features outlined in the protologue, and hence we designate this specimen here as a lectotype of Th. dimorphus [unranked] steppaceus.

Other original material examined (syntypes): — UKRAINE. ЮЗовка, Донбас, околиці на південь [Yuzovka, Donbas, southern outskirts], 30–31 May 1924, Klokov s.n. ( CWU 0050804!). UKRAINE. ЮЗово, Донбас, схили над Кальміусом, Ларинський кар’ Єр [Yuzovo, Donbas, slopes over the Kalmius River, Laryne quarry], 30 May 1924, Klokov s.n. ( CWU 0050807!).
