Type species. Rhopalomutilla mlanjeana Bischoff, 1920 (male, female; syntypes), by original designation (name determined under Article 61.4 of the Code, ICZN 1999).
Taxonomic history. Valid generic name.
Sex association. The type species was described from both sexes by Bischoff, 1920: 178–180.
Distribution. Afrotropical, Oriental.
