Gender. Feminine.
Type species. Photomorphus ( Photomorphina) aurifer Schuster, 1952 (male), by original designation (misspelled as aurifera).
Taxonomic history. Senior homonym and senior subjective synonym of Photomorphina Schuster, 1958 . Valid subgeneric name.
Sex association. The female of the type species has not been recognized; the presumed females of another species were associated and described by Brabant et al., 2010: 60–64.
Distribution. Nearctic, Neotropical.
