Type:— INDIA. Tamil Nadu: Tirunelveli district, Courtallum, August 1835, Wight 165 (lectotype E00174024 !, designated here; isolectotypes E00174025 ! and NY6751 !) .
Residual syntypes: — INDIA. Tamil Nadu: Tirunelveli district, Courtallum, s.d., Wight 165 ( E00174022 ! and E00174023 !) ; Tamil Nadu: Tirunelveli district, Courtallum, August 1835, Wight 344 ( K000694958 !) ; Peninsula Indiae Orientalis, s.d., Wight 344 ( K000694959 !, M0211741 ! and P04538658 !) .
Distribution:— India, endemic (Kerala and Tamil Nadu).
Notes:—In the protologue of Impatiens uncinata, Wight (1837) mentioned only locality Courtallum. Nine herbarium specimens of I. uncinata collected by Wight were traced (E00174022, E00174023, E00174024, E00174025, K000694958, K000694959, M0211741, NY6751 and P04538658). Of these, the better preserved specimen E00174024, is designated here as the lectotype as it agrees well with the protologue.
