Type citation:—“TRAVANCORE. Udambanshola: in the grass, 1525 m., A. Meebold, 1311; Pecamode, 1372 m., A. Meebold, 12924.”
Type:— INDIA. Kerala:Travancore, Idukki district,Udambanshola [Udumbanchola], March1911, Meebold 13111 (lectotype K 000720271!, designated here).
Residual syntype: — INDIA. Travancore, Pecamode, March 1911, Meebold 12924 ( K 000720270!).
Distribution:— India, endemic and rare (Kerala and Tamil Nadu).
Notes:—In the protologue of Impatiens herbicola, J.D. Hooker (1911) cited two collections from Travancore ‘ Meebold 1311 and Meebold 12924 ’. At present, only two herbarium sheets of Meebold’s collections are extant at K (K000720270 and K000720271). Of these, K000720271 is designated here as the lectotype as it agrees well with the protologue, also in having dissected flower parts and drawing pasted on the sheet by J.D. Hooker. The collection number Meebold 1311 in protologue is typographical error of Meebold 13111.
