Distribution. Western Atlantic – Puerto Rico, Curaçao, Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia, Venezuela, Surinam, and Brazil (from Amapá to Espírito Santo) ( Manning 1969; Gomes Corrêa 1986; Rodrigues & Young 2005).

Ecological notes. On muddy bottoms, between 13 and 182 m, but more frequently at depths less than 90 m ( Manning 1969; Gomes Corrêa 1986).
