Diagnosis. Female. Head with antennal toruli placed slightly above lower eye margin. Mandible with 3 teeth. Antennal formula 1, 1, (2), 2, 1; funicle two-segmented, both the segments combined longer than broad and completely separate, each funicle segment with 1 placoid sensilla; clava one-segmented, with numerous placoid sensilla and a few basiconic peg sensilla; midlobe of mesoscutum and scutellum each with 2 pairs of setae; fore wing densely setose, few setal tracks discernible at base but obsolescent apically; RS1 present or absent; marginal vein moderately long, less sclerotized and with a few strong setae on the margin; stigmal vein short, basal constriction not present; ovipositor long, saber-shaped, extending to the base of gaster and strongly exserted, hypopygium may or may not reach apex of gaster.
Male. Similar to female in colour pattern but differs from it by the longer pedicel; F1 longer than F2, each with one placoid sensilla; clava two-segmented, segments partially fused; genitalia long, subequal to hind tibia in length; anterodorsal aperture short; aedeagal apodemes present ( Pinto 2006).
Species. World, 5 species, including 1 new species here described.
Hosts. Unknown in Saudi Arabia. Pinto (1990) mentions eggs of Cicadellidae and Miridae .
Distribution. Afrotropical, Oriental, Nearctic, Neotropical, Palaearctic ( Pinto 2006).
