Genus Distantina View in CoL gen. nov.

Type species: Elidiptera fimlivata Walker, 1851

Diagnosis. Metope without median keel, with only median prominence apically; sublateral keels reaching its apical margin, but not joined apically and not reaching clypeus. Apical angles of metope horn-shaped. Postclypeus large. Coryphe with acutely angulate anterior margin, posterior margin obtusely angulate. Fore wings with callosities. Hind wings well developed, with deep incision between remigium and vannus, veins with numerous branches apically, anal lobe narrow. Hind tibia with 2 lateral teeth distally. Metatarsomere I with 6–8 intermediate socle setae. Lateral fields of posterior connective lamina of gonapophyses IX with large horn-shaped processes.

Etymology. The generic name is derived from the surname of famous British entomologist W.L. Distant who first suggested that Elidiptera fimlivata Walker does not belong to the genus Pterilia Stål ( Distant 1910) . It is feminine in gender.

Supplementary description. Body length. Female. 14.3–14.8 mm.

Female genitalia (fig. 26). Anal tube wide, flat, weakly narrowing apically. Anal column wide and short. Gonoplacs joined medially by membrane, without keels. Furca indistinct. Proximal part of posterior connective lamina of gonapophyses IX flat. Distal parts of posterior connective lamina of gonapophyses IX wide, weakly turned to median line, without teeth. Median field strongly protruding, with a pair of lobes apically and with a narrow sclerotized median area basally. Anterior connective lamina of gonapophyse VIII narrow, with 3 wide teeth in apical group and 3 narrow teeth and comb covered by setae in lateral group. Endogonocoxal process wide. Gonocoxa VIII nearly rectangular, with almost straight lobe-shaped hind margin.

Coloration. General coloration reddish brown with dark brown callosities on fore wings.

Issus pectinipennis Guérin-Méneville 1834: 475 Pterilia pectinipennis: Metcalf 1958: 421 View in CoL

Note. According to the figure by Guérin-Méneville (1829, pl. 58, fig. 10) the species has the coryphe with acutely angulate anterior margin and fore wings with a broad precostal area. These features allow transferring of the species to the genus Distantina View in CoL gen. nov.
