Type species: Pterilia ceylonensis Stål
Diagnosis. Metope with or without intermediate keels. Pronotum with anterior margin strongly convex. Fore wings without hypocostal plate, veins keel-shaped. Radius multifurcate (2–12), median bifurcate, cubitus anterior simple. Hind wings well developed, three-lobed, with deep incision between remigium and vannus, anal lobe narrow, veins with numerous branches apically.
Phallobase with distinct dorso-lateral and ventral lobes. Aedeagus with a pair of ventral hooks and a pair of apical processes. Capitulum of style with distinct apical and lateral teeth.
