? Sierola ambigua Ashmead 1893: 56 , holotype ♂, Brookings, S[outh] Dak[ota] [National Museum of Natural History, Washington D.C.]. Junior subjective synonym of Sierolomorpha canadensis ( Provancher, 1888) according to Evans 1961: 11.
Mutilla tertia de Dalla Torre 1897: 91, replacement name for Photopsis canadensis Provancher, 1888 (nec Mutilla canadensis Blake, 1871 ), as secondary homonym in the genus Mutilla Linnaeus. Sierolomorpha ambigua: Ashmead 1903: 42 ; Krombein 1951: 749.

Distribution. Widely distributed over eastern U.S.A. and Canada from Florida, Texas, and Arizona to Alberta, Ontario, and Massachusetts.
