4 On each side of the contracted penis tip a few spines form a lateral row. On the everted endophallus these spines stand before a background of flat scales and truncate spines forming a sleeve around the endophallus base and are therefore less easily seen. Beyond the sleeve spines and hooks occur all around the endophallus, more distally most of the ventral side is bare.
