TYPE LOCALITY: Brazil, Paré, Belém .

DISTRIBUTION: Amazonian lowlands south of Rio Amazonas, from Ilha de Marajó, Belém, and both banks of the Rio Tocantins south to Ilha do Tayauna, and westward to Aurâ Igarapé, ca. 15 km W Borba, on the Rio Madeira.

COMMENTS: Sympatric with C. prehensilis throughout its range.
